Indri’s Diwali Collector’s Edition 2024, produced by Piccadily Agro Industries Limited, has once again gained attention, earning a ‘Gold Medal’ at the Whiskies of the World Awards 2024. For the second year in a row, this special Diwali release has been celebrated for its distinctive Indian character, flavours and complexity.
The Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2024 made a strong impression on a panel of whisky experts, with its blend of light fruit, floral hints and a touch of spice. The Whiskies of the World Awards is held every year, bringing together whiskies from around the world to be judged on a detailed 100-point scale. The focus is on elements like aroma, flavour, and finish, with a panel of well-known experts from the drinks industry leading the process. It’s considered one of the top competitions in the whisky world.
Siddhartha Sharma, Promoter of Piccadily Agro Industries Limited, shared his thoughts on the achievement, saying, “We are extremely proud to have upheld our legacy with the 2024 edition, which continues to push boundaries and cement Indri’s place as a global leader in premium whisky craftsmanship. Indri’s latest triumph at Whiskies of the World Awards, coupled with our position as the world’s fastest-growing single malt brand, marks a pivotal moment in our strategic journey.”
The whisky has gained global recognition, following the success of last year’s release. The Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2024, bottled at 50% ABV, is made from peated Indian six-row barley and distilled using traditional copper pot stills. After being filled into carefully chosen sherry casks, it matures in the warm subtropical climate of northern India. Flavours of dates, raisins, caramel, soft spices and oak, all come together in the bottle.
“This recognition reflects our commitment to producing world-class whiskies that highlight the richness of Indian terroir while continuing to innovate with each new expression. As we continue to outpace industry growth rates, we’re not just winning awards – we’re globally endeavouring to develop a category for Indian single malts which can stand shoulder to shoulder with any global single malt producer in the world,” Sharma further added.
Although this bottle falls on the lower end of Indri’s whisky range, there’s also the Indri Founder’s Reserve 11-Year-Old Wine Cask, which earned a 95.09 points at the International Whisky Competition (IWC) 2024. This rare bottle is so exclusive that its price is only provided upon request.
