Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Spectre Semaphore, a limited edition electric vehicle (EV) that will make its public debut at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California. The car features a distinctive hood painting and custom paint job, with the “Marbled Paint Spill” hood being the most striking feature. The artwork is a tribute to the Golden State and its diverse environment, with the informal elegance of coastal California serving as its inspiration. The British manufacturer claims that any buyer worldwide can buy the unique Semaphore.

The exterior of the Spectre Semaphore is designed for this year’s Pebble Beach show at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The yellow theme continues with Lemon Yellow and Citrine Yellow tones, designed by the Bespoke team. Yellow appears on the dials of the digital instrument cluster, but there is some contrast provided by Grace White and Slate Grey surfaces. Additionally, the wood has been painted; in this case, Cashmere grey paint has been blended with silver mica flakes to complement the grey material.

Like most custom Rolls-Royces, the Spectre’s foundation is still in place, with a 120kWh battery pack powering the all-electric drivetrain. The Spectre’s other technical specs include an electric range of 468 km on a single charge and a power consumption rate of 2.6–2.8mi/kWh. Moreover, zero CO2 emissions are in line with current sustainability requirements. As part of 2024 Monterey Car Week, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering will host an exhibition of the Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore on August 16.

Rolls-Royce has never been shrinking violets, and the latest one-off Rolls-Royce is the Spectre Semaphore, which pushes the creative envelope far afield. This unique Spectre features one-of-a-kind artwork on the bonnet a dramatic Marbled Paint Spill requiring 160 hours of development by Rolls-Royce craftspeople, who applied silver lacquer and multiple layers of clear coat for a seamless finish.

The Spectre’s interior is carried through a combination of Bespoke Lemon Yellow and Citrine Yellow leather across the seats, Starlight doors, and above the instrument panel. Grace White and Slate Grey leather are enlivened by Lemon Yellow stitching that enhances the creative vision. The team at Goodwood also programmed the Spectre’s SPIRIT operating system to illuminate instrument dials in the Semaphore Yellow colorway. Highly polished wood serves as complementing trim, and is finished in Cashmere Grey paint infused with silver mica flakes that sparkle when illuminated.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore is infinitely rare, in fact, the factory is emphatic that only one Spectre Semaphore will be built for the entire global market. This one-of-one is available exclusively through authorized dealer partners of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in the United States.
