On October 7, Reliance’s beauty platform Tira dropped Augustinus Bader, a global luxury skincare brand, in India. It’s now available on their site and at select stores in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. They’re also offering expert guidance to help you find just the right skincare to glow up based on your needs.
Named after biomedical scientist Augustinus Bader, who spent over 30 years researching technologies to heal cells affected by aging and trauma, the brand’s journey began in 2008 with the launch of a groundbreaking Wound Gel designed to heal skin trauma without surgery or grafting. While Bader continues his stem cell research, his skincare venture, launched in 2018, has since earned over 100 awards for its innovative and effective beauty products.
As per records, Augustinus Bader generated around INR 839.60 crore ($100 million) in sales in 2023, with projections of INR 1090.41 crore to INR 1175.36 crore ($130–$140 million) in 2024, marking a remarkable 40% growth in just one year. In November 2022, the brand raised INR 209.89 crore ($25 million) in a strategic funding round led by Impala and General Atlantic, valuing the company at INR 8396.13 crore ($1 billion).
With its recent entry into the Indian beauty market—expected to grow from INR 54825 crore ($6.53 billion) in 2022 to INR 74220 crore ($8.84 billion) by 2027—Augustinus Bader is set to make a significant impact in this fast-growing sector.
Bhakti Modi, co-founder of Tira, said, “The introduction of Augustinus Bader in India is yet another step in our endeavor to offer luxury, high-performance skincare that resonates with India’s growing community of beauty connoisseurs.”
Some of Augustinus Bader’s best products include The Rich Cream and The Cream, which have won the brand hundreds of beauty awards for their revolutionary results. Now, they are expanding their product line by collaborating with a renowned film director to launch tinted lip balms—their first venture into lip color.
