It seems everything has a price, even Italy's pride and joy—the one-off Lamborghini Egoista. This radical creation, which turned heads with its extreme design and immense power, reportedly found a new home with a Swiss collector. However, the exact location of this motorized treasure remains a mystery. While some rumors, as reported by Supercar Blondie, suggest the Egoista fetched INR 1013 crore ($117 million), the absence of the car at the Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese doesn't necessarily confirm its sale. Whether it’s been sold or simply moved remains uncertain, but the rumors about its price tag are hard to ignore.
Lamborghini has always kept its concept cars and design studies as just that—concepts and studies. But with the Egoista, they did something entirely different. It became Lamborghini's priciest creation, surpassing even its production cars and concepts, though it might as well have been a rocket ship for all its futuristic appeal (despite Lamborghini not actually making rocket ships).
The Egoista was never meant to be sold. Though fully functional, it wasn’t street-legal, and Lamborghini wasn’t interested in releasing it for the public. Instead, the car served as a display of the brand’s capabilities, showcasing a design that resembled a fighter jet, powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine.
The V10 engine in the Egoista delivers a powerful 591 horsepower (600 metric horsepower) and 413 pound-feet (560 Newton meters) of torque, all while weighing just 2,094 pounds (950 kilograms). With such a performance setup, the Egoista can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in a mere 2.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 217 mph (350 kph). Whoever is lucky enough to own this concept car will find themselves with a truly unique driving experience. Inside the cockpit, there's a single seat secured with a four-point seatbelt, all encased in carbon fiber; and much like a Formula 1 driver, getting into and out of the seat requires removing the steering wheel.
