Daniel Craig might have hung up his 007 suit, but he’s still sporting Bond’s watch of choice. The 56-year-old British actor was spotted at the Olympic Games in Paris wearing a new Omega Seamaster on his wrist. Omega is keeping the specifics of this top-secret watch under the wraps for now, but they have teased the watch world with a few tantalising glimpses to spark some excitement before the big reveal later this year.

The upcoming timepiece seems to be a modern twist on the Seamaster Diver 300M from 1993. It sports a large case and a sleek mesh bracelet, likely made from either stainless steel or titanium. The dial has a matte black finish, free from the usual date window and wave pattern found on other Seamaster models. The hands and indices pop in white, matched by the markers on the black bezel. If it were not for the absence of the brown colourway, you might mistake it for the Seamaster featured in No Time to Die.

Craig has been an Omega ambassador ever since he first stepped into James Bond’s shoes for Casino Royale back in 2006. “I think what was so impressive was the fact that these watches are made from the ground up. You start with nothing, and then there’s suddenly a working watch. That’s the beauty of it. To see the engineering that goes into it and the legacy that goes into it, that’s what fascinated me,” the actor had said in a statement to Omega. Last November, Craig gave us a first look at a new Omega Speedmaster with a white dial, which did not hit the shelves until earlier this year.

Since the Seamaster became James Bond’s go-to watch in 1995, Omega has rolled out several special 007 editions, each celebrating key moments in the 25-film franchise. With this year marking the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger, Omega might be planning a tribute to the 1964 classic with their latest release. Or perhaps, they are honouring Daniel Craig’s impressive 15-year run as the world’s most famous MI6 agent. Then again, it might not be Bond-related at all.

Omega, the official timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932, is making quite a splash in Paris this year. They have gone all out, setting up a pop-up, unveiling a special edition watch just for the 2024 Games and now, teasing their unreleased watch with Daniel Craig.
